I enrolled in this course because I have an interest in careers in the medical field. Specifically to be a paramedic, and then get a degree to be a Physician's Assistant. I have always been interested in healthcare, and I couldn't wait to learn early about the topic. I can say for certain that I will enjoy this course, not only because of the activities and topics we have already covered, but because the class itself is so intriguing. I definitely want to pursue a career in healthcare. Now that I am more educated on certain qualifications and extra expectations from a medical patron, I am even more motivated. I originally thought the class would cover just basic knowledge such as CPR and symptoms of a cold. However, we learned 130 medical terms so far, and we do actual class activities that relate to health. Such as taking a pulse, learning how to use a stethoscope, and even practicing surgical operations. For healthcare, I am most interested in external illnesses and injury. While I would like to specialize in internal medicine, I would first like to be an ER Nurse and/or Paramedic, so I can help immediately and see the effects people have in real time. This class so far has further motivated me to achieve these goals and learn more about the medicine career paths.
